K2300 - the new powerhouse from Klaas

The K2300 can unload or move up to 9 tonnes. With its outstanding lateral outreach, the K2300 is the most powerful aluminium crane currently on the market. It can lift three tonnes at a reach of 19 m. The K2300 owes these high performance values to its extremely stable mast.

K2300 - The new powerhouse from Klaas is the strongest aluminium crane on the market

With the K2300, Klaas has developed an enormously powerful crane that responds to the increased requirements of its customers in the construction industry.

The trend here is towards the pre-assembly of ever larger and heavier components such as filigree ceilings or prefabricated house parts, which then have to be lifted to their destination on the construction site. Customers do not want to do without the typical advantages of an aluminium crane: These are quick to set up and ready for use, are comparatively light and still achieve a long reach.

The Klaas designers were therefore faced with the task of developing a mobile crane that could transport three tonnes comfortably over as long a range as possible. This was impressively achieved with the K2300: Thanks to a newly developed and extremely strong hoisting winch, the powerhouse can lift up to 4.5 tonnes in single fall operation - equipped with just one guide pulley, it can even unload or move nine tonnes. The K2300 effortlessly lifts loads of 3,000 kg to a lateral reach of 19 metres, making it currently the strongest aluminium crane on the market.

The K2300 owes its high performance values to its extremely stable mast system and the newly designed H-support, in which the horizontal support beams can be telescoped twice. The large overlap of the outriggers guarantees high stability and optimum stability. As with all Klaas cranes, all mast elements on the K2300 are made of 100% high-strength aluminium. The folding jib consists of the base element and four extensions, the first two of which are hydraulically telescopic. This enables assembly even where space is limited. The third and fourth extensions can be extended manually and provide the final metres of reach on the construction site. The folding jib measures a total length of 18.45 m, and a reinforced folding jib joint provides more reach in the 900 position.

One new feature that catches the eye is the redesigned superstructure: its solid counterweight made of exposed concrete has been given a full panelling with dynamic indicators. As a result, the superstructure fits in perfectly with the modern and high-quality design of the entire vehicle. The superstructure houses the powerful diesel engine for crane operation, whose output of 32 kW has been significantly increased once again compared to the established large Klaas models. The ignition has been integrated into the full panelling so that the engine can be started from below. Thanks to the hybrid drive, the crane can alternatively be operated with low emissions and noise via a 400 volt electric motor.
