In 1929, Ignatz van Roje founded the company as a small pit wood operation in Neuwied on the Rhine. At that time, he laid the foundation for one of Europe’s leading softwood sawmills – and the largest in Rhineland-Palatinate. Our wood plant is located in the Westerwald region – right in the heart of Germany, right in the heart of Europe.
Today, van Roje is a modern family-owned company in its third generation and continues to grow steadily. Using state-of-the-art technologies and manufacturing methods, we face the current ecological and economic challenges of an automated and digitalized world. We are proud of our regional roots and combine tradition with innovation.
