Founded in 2005 in Prad am Stilfserjoch (South Tyrol), holzius GmbH has since developed into a specialist in ecological solid timber construction.
Our products
The core of the patented holzius solid wood wall is a ridge moulding with dovetailed edges, an innovative development of age-old craftsmanship techniques. For the wall elements, planks are installed in the direction of growth, interlocked by a multiple groove and comb connection and wedged with a ridge moulding.
holzius solid wood ceilings are flat, glue- and metal-free construction elements. They consist of parallel solid wood beams, which are interlocked with a multiple groove and comb joint. A hole is drilled crosswise into the solid wood beams and a thread is milled. The individual beams are then joined together with beech wood screws to form a dimensionally stable solid wood element. This creates a solid wood element that is particularly suitable for storey ceilings and roofs.
The new holzius toothed beam support complements the product range. These are rod-shaped, glue- and metal-free construction elements in which several beams are joined together by a composite cross-section and fixed with wood screws.
With the customised, glue- and metal-free wall, ceiling and roof elements made of solid wood, timber frame constructions can be erected with guaranteed dimensional stability and permanent airtightness.
At holzius, we work with the power of nature and live sustainability: The production of the completely natural holzius solid wood elements is carried out exclusively with PEFC-certified wood from the Alpine region and follows the principle of the circular economy. By dispensing with glue and metal, the solid wood elements are unmixed and can therefore be 100% recycled and reintroduced into the material cycle if used correctly. This recyclability of holzius solid wood elements is confirmed by the Cradle to Cradle™ (GOLD) certificate.
