Interzero offers innovative recycling solutions for the construction industry to save raw materials from used packaging and product residues and to cycle recyclable materials.
Managing raw materials in a closed loop
Interzero offers innovative recycling solutions for the construction industry to save raw materials from used packaging and product residues and to cycle recyclable materials.
With a comprehensive recycling and logistics network, Interzero ensures that packaging generated on construction sites is easily taken back and recycled in a resource-saving manner. The recycling service provider also bundles material flows and optimises recycling processes for product residues and construction waste of all kinds. Saving raw materials through recycling makes a significant contribution to greater sustainability in construction.
Optimum resource utilisation in practice
Many customers in the construction industry are already benefiting from Interzero's sustainable take-back solutions. Residual materials in construction are recycled and fed back into the production process. This creates real material cycles that contribute significantly to CO2 reduction and are also very user-friendly.
Together with building material manufacturer Xella, Interzero closes the product cycle for the construction site cuttings of Ytong aerated concrete and Multipor mineral insulation boards. Instead of being disposed of in a construction waste container, the leftovers are collected on the construction site in big bags according to type. Interzero Logistics takes care of the collection so that Xella can process the residual material and reintroduce it into production. As a result, more than 13,500 tonnes of residual materials have already been recycled.
In cooperation with the Fachvereinigung Extruderschaum e.V. (FPX e.V.), Interzero recycles XPS insulation board offcuts. XPS offcuts collected separately in bags are collected from the construction site and sent directly for recycling. The resulting granulate can be used for new XPS production. Customers of FPX member companies can use the nationwide disposal service of the online portal, www.ecoservice24.com.
Interzero offers a new cross-platform tool for smart raw materials management. It enables customised recycling and take-back concepts for various product and material flows. In this way, we can work with our customers to enable the sustainable and transparent extraction of secondary raw materials from their own materials and products and reduce the use of primary resources.
As a pioneer in the circular economy, Interzero is winner of the German Sustainability Award as well as the related special award in the “Resources” transformation field for 2024.
