Novelty DACH+HOLZ 2024

Wood in the spotlight

With the commissioning of the new cross laminated timber plant in Bad St. Leonhard/Wiesenau (Carinthia) at the beginning of 2020, KLH not only increased capacity, but also invested in its own highly automated KLH® - CLT coating system.

More and more people who live in a building made of wood also want to show off the natural material. Until now, visible wood was mainly in vogue for façades. In the meantime, the proportion of visible wooden surfaces in interior areas is steadily increasing. This not only applies to detached houses, but schools and nurseries are also opting for a pleasant and healthy living and working environment.

With the commissioning of the new cross laminated timber plant in Bad St. Leonhard/Wiesenau (Carinthia) at the beginning of 2020, KLH not only increased its capacity, but also invested in its own highly automated plant for coating and finishing KLH® - CLT.

In the international markets, there is strong demand for constructive protective coatings, such as end grain protection or protective coatings against termites and blue stain fungi. In the DACH region, coloring and colorless wood stains are becoming increasingly popular. The coating line in Wiesenau can cover both of these requirements. The pre-cut elements are coated in a suspended position using a robot. All-round coating of surfaces and cut edges as well as partial coating of the panel surface are possible. Responsible treatment of people and nature is important to us, which is why we only use water-based products in our coating plant. A homogeneous surface is achieved thanks to mechanical coating. Appropriate protection during transportation is essential.
