The CCS multifunctional connector "Hydra"

The CCS is an internal concealed connector that combines anchors of a special design, bolts and screw connections, thus combining the load-bearing capacities of the three types of connections and extending the range of possible applications.

The CCS "Hydra" multifunctional connector is fitted with eight uniformly arranged, 45-degree angled holes for CSFT full thread connector screws. This inclined arrangement allows the high tensile load-bearing capacity of these screws to be utilised to the full extent. In the Hydra's centre is a complete metric thread for a suitable bolt or threaded rod to fasten the components to be joined.

In addition to typical timber-to-timber connections, such as main beam/secondary beam and column/purlin connections, purlin joints and tension connections can also be realised, e.g. to interception beams and connections to steel components. The concealed installation of the connector enables fire protection-compliant designs.

The CCS has a recess on one end for inserting a disc with a precisely fitting hole for the bolt shank. This so-called "Passring" is required for load transmission when connecting steel components.

The CCS is available in 30, 40 and 50 mm diameters. The internal diameter and thread match the standard bolt sizes M12, M16 and M20. The height of the cylindrical connector is 25 mm for all sizes, which helps avoiding incorrect drilling depths due to different connector sizes. The corresponding CSFT connector screws with special countersunk head and full thread are also available in three sizes.
