Solar modules for heritage buildings

The energy transition on German roofs is in full swing. While it was initially mainly new buildings that were almost always equipped with photovoltaic systems, the focus has now also been on existing roofs for some time.Even listed buildings can produce electricity with the solar tile.

Only listed roofs are often left out of the equation when it comes to green energy generation. The constant objection is that a PV system changes the building envelope and does not comply with the requirements for listed buildings.

New copper red color

The Creaton PV-Autarq system now closes this gap on roofs. With the new copper red color, the system is also convincing on listed buildings. The smooth appearance of the roof landscape evokes associations with historic plain tile roofing. The straight-lined Domino smooth tile from Creaton in the color copper red engobed serves as the support. The solar tile specialist Autarq upgrades this to a solar roof tile by inseparably connecting the tile and solar module to form a robust component. The water flow and impermeability of the original tile remain unchanged, as does the service life of the product. The Creaton PV-Autarq impresses with its harmonious appearance. The innovative unit consisting of PV module and Domino tile enables full utilization of the roof.

Easy to install

For roof installers, this easy-to-install system represents both an opportunity and a challenge. The installation of the Autarq solar tile differs only slightly from a normal roof covering; it is laid in the same way as other roof coverings. The roofers only have to connect the individual roof tiles in series during installation using a plug-in connection. As the system works in the low voltage range, it is safe for people and can be wired on the roof side by the roofer, whose processes change only minimally. The installation then requires coordination and cooperation with the electrician who connects the system on the house side.

Low failure rate and long-term product guarantee

A major advantage of the system is the low failure rate of the panels, which can occur with other systems due to partial shading in large areas. Another clear advantage of the parallel connection of the tiles is the low voltage of a maximum of 120 volts throughout the system up to the inverter. The tiles can be used on almost all pitched roofs. By utilizing the entire roof surface, they enable efficient energy generation. Autarq also offers a product guarantee of up to 25 years on the solar tiles.

Vario roof-integrated PV system available for red roofs

With a new color variant, Creaton can provide a second offer in its solar world for listed buildings. In addition to the already familiar all-black modules, red PV modules are now also available for the Vario roof-integrated system, which blend in well with the appearance of red-covered roofs. These are a good choice for listed buildings on which black elements are not approved in order to enable self-sufficient power generation here too.
