REISSER spacer screw RDS: The new type of substructure for rear ventilated facades

With the spacer screw RDS, REISSER-Schraubentechnik GmbH of-fers a new fastener for a simple, economical and virtually thermal-bridge-free installation of rear ventilated facades.

The newly approved REISSER spacer screw RDS lets you mount rear ventilated facades quickly and easily on concrete and masonry. Unlike conventional screws, the REISSER spacer screw RDS has two different threads on the head and tip. The profile to be fastened (wood or aluminium) is kept at a distance by the head thread. The anchor thread in combination with the plastic frame anchor fixes the system into the exterior wall. The latter is resilient to tension and compression. The REISSER spacer screw RDS has a general technical approval (abZ) with number Z-21.2-2130. It can be used both in new buildings and for the renovation of existing buildings.

As REISSER spacer screws RDS are invisibly installed and no longer accessible after installation, the fastener must be made of stainless steel (A4) as required by the directive for rear ventilated facades. The low thermal conductivity of this material also results in an almost thermal bridge-free fastening as a positive effect. Furthermore, the A4 spacer screw – as a connection system that is compliant with fire protection requirements – accordingly fulfils such requirements and is therefore a safe connection system for rear ventilated facades. It is also suitable for facades resistant to deicing salt water, e.g., in salt zones and outdoor wellness areas. And last, but not least, the REISSER spacer screw RDS is fully compatible with all commercially available compression-resistant or compression-soft insulation materials and profiles. This means that, thanks to the push-through installation, pressure-resistant materials can be fastened just as easily as pressure-soft materials without having to the insulation having to be cut out in a cumbersome way. Insulation waste is therefore minimised and faulty insulation is prevented. As a result, the reduction of the total number of work steps required for assembly (as the processing time is reduced by up to 50%) also leads to higher cost efficiency and therefore to a particularly economical solution.

The REISSER spacer screw RDS can also be used for subsequently installed visual changes to facades, such as elements made of Max panels, aluminium composite plates, Eternit (Cemprit), advertising board fixings, wood panelling or later subsequently installed solar panel installations. And finally, the complete deconstructability of this system screw guarantees the 100 percent recyclability of the materials and therefore the sustainability of the product.

Based on the façade load, the exact number of screws per m² can also be calculated, which means that you can thus determine the requirement for spacer screws for an entire building project.
